About Baking Soda

Baking soda is is industrially known as sodium bicarbonate, an inexpensive ingredient used to help cakes rise. Also used for a variety of purposes including minimizing scars, whitening teeth, as a relief from digestive problems, for tenderizing meat and even as a fire extinguisher. With so many benefits, most forget that it is a great ex-foliating agent, keeping the skin clear and free of pigmentation and blemishes.

How does baking soda for acne work?

Baking soda is a smooth white powder. When mixed with water and used as a scrub on the skin, it removes all the surface dirt, grime as well as oil. As a result it creates an environment that is clean where acne causing bacteria cannot grow. When used regularly, this compound is great at preventing as well as keeping acne at bay.

It has more advantages than disadvantages

While baking soda does make the skin dry, it is probably its only disadvantage. It may cause a bit of irritation on extremely sensitive skin, so if your skin is sensitive try it out and watch out for skin irritation. If skin irritation does appear, it is best to stop using this chemical and go for other alternatives to treat your acne with.

When scrubbed on skin, it not only cleans the skin, it prevents acne from forming while at the same time minimizing the scars formed due to acne.

What have you got to lose?

If you have used everything you can lay your hands on or are only now on the look out for a safe anti acne product, do check out baking soda. By using baking soda for acne you don't loose anything, although you may gain one of the most cherished things in the world, a blemish free face.
